Besbrode Pianos and Decca Records proudly presents… Working Classical Hero
Get ready to be inspired by Ellis Arey, the breakout star from Channel 4’s The Piano, alongside Grammy-winning songwriter and talent guru Eliot Kennedy in a very special, free event.
Ignite your ambition and get exclusive insights in how creativity, resilience and talent can crack the music industry.
Talent development is the lifeblood of Decca Records, home to Abbey Road Studio, made famous by The Beatles. The label recently signed 24-year-old Ellis, a classical musician (and boxer), who sees piano as a, “universe of complex emotions”. From his humble beginnings on a council estate to studying at Leeds Conservatoire, his story of triumph, which was also profiled in a Sky Arts film, is nothing short of extraordinary.
Eliot Kenendy also came from humble beginnings, starting a band at school in Rotherham, before co-writing global hits for the Spice Girls, Take That,Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige and Bryan Adams, and is famed for his long-standing songwriting partnership with Gary Barlow.
He also co-wrote the Broadway musical, Finding Neverland with Barlow, composes film soundtracks, including Eddie the Eagle and the upcoming movie,Hot Flash, and is creative director at Steelworks Studios.
Join us for a medley of music and conversation. Ellis will perform a selection of pieces, interspersed with questions led by Eliot. There will be a 15 minute segment at the end for Q & A where audience members can pose their questions for real-world advice on getting a head start in the music industry. So get ready and bring your questions along!
Please note: This event will be filmed by Decca Records
